Ugh, Glee

Dear followers (all two of you), I am sorry for my lack of blogging lately. I have a lot to talk about so I'm going to make a list to make sure I don't leave anything out!

1. Firefly (finished watching the series on blu-ray and watched serenity
2. Community
3. A new series I've been watching (I'll let your imaginations run wide with this for a while)
4. Arrested Development
5. Crappy TV
6. Another favorite moments post

Let's get started on this post and hope that I am able to fulfill the promises I have made to you over the next week or two.

First of all I would like to give a shout out to my Auburn family and say
WAR EAGLE!
It was an Iron Bowl for the ages and I'm so glad I was there to enjoy it in person.

I've been putting off talking about Glee for a while because I have such mixed feelings when I think about/watch this show. I LOVE LOVE LOVED the first half of the first season. The story was touching, the music was great and relevant to the story, and Jane Lynch is hilarious. If you know me, you know that I love musical theater and I am very saddened by the fact that I cannot carry a tune and will never sing on Broadway. So naturally, Glee + Alex was a recipe for success (too cheesy? yes!). My feeling towards Glee slowly began to shift during the second half of the first season and have continued in a sour direction throughout this current season.

I still really enjoy the music and dancing and I've loved John Stamos and the Britney Spears episode. Britney S. Pears can DANCE. Unfortunately, the awful/scattered story lines and this seasons focus on Kurt (my least favorite actor, who ruins a character I probably would have otherwise liked) are making it difficult for me to sit through entire episodes of the show. Now, just because Glee had put me in a bad mood (isn't that the opposite of what the word glee means) I'm going to provide you with a list of some of Glee's more ridiculous moments. Enjoy?

1. Does Ryan Murphy really think a high school would even consider putting on Rocky Horror Picture Show. Even with rewrites to make it less racy (because changing the lyrics from "I'm just a sweet transvestite
From Transexual, Transylvania" to "I'm just a sweet transvestite From sin...sational Transylvania" really makes everything okay).
2. The mother/daughter duo of Poker Face. Really? Because that's a song I would really love to sing to my long lost mother as our last song we get to sing together.
3. The grilled cheesus episode. Some parts of this episode, including the grilled cheesus, were funny but for the most part this episode rubbed me the wrong way. I didn't like how the reasons people were rejecting religion was because they felt entitled and thought God didn't love them because He didn't immediately answer their prayers.
4. Carol Burnett. Don't get me wrong, I love Carol Burnett and I'm very upset with the writers of Glee for not using her better. She is a legend and fantastic and you people brought her in and gave her crappy Sue imitation dialog and a stupid song. Boo on you.
5. There are many more but I'm tired of having to relive these moments. Blah.

Anyway, one more week of school and a week of finals and I'M DONE (until January).
Happy Monday everyone!
